Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge
The trans-Atlantic regatta will start in Vigo, Spain. From there the fleet will race to Tenerife in the Canary Islands, en route to Bermuda. The fleet will then race to Charleston, South Carolina for Charleston Harbor Fest 2009, before racing to Boston. From Boston the fleet will cruise in company north to Halifax, Canada. From there the fleet will race back across the North Atlantic to Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Hope I can get a chance to see them here. I have seen some ships at Yorktown and now I wonder if they will be joining in on that trip to Boston. Probably not but one never knows. I will ask them when and if I get to Yorktown pier.

Went out to see the Tall Ships leave Charleston harbor to race to Boston yesterday. Magnificent site - 1,000s of boats out to escort 20 ships to the sea ...
Us returning home on the Viva Mahia (love those diesels) ...

We have about 50 still shots of the other tall ships as well. This is always a wonderful day on the water.
