F32 Sliding Door Lock?

Does anyone know of a good quality lock mechanism for the sliding door on the F32 (F36 my be the same)?
The mechanism I put in last year (or 2?) doesn't fit well. I think I put in an $8 1" sliding door mechanism, while the door is actually 7/8" thick. In cold weather, the mechanism can barely be operated (even when lubed well).
Even with the correct width, the mechanism is "cheesy", and I wonder if anyone has located a unit that works better, and can be locked more positively?

Trying to visualize your set-up. I believe you have a hook type latch which clicks into the frame when locked...?
The lock on my year 32 has a rod inside the door, when the lock is turned, goes up through a hole in the door header frame.

That lock is for screen door are you looking for the glass sliding door lock.... try Beacon. Mine is substantial with key mechanism... can't say anymore as it is stored indoors (aircraft hangar) for the winter and I have no need to go see her for a couple of months.

The one I have IS for a sliding glass door, but its pretty flimsy.
What year did they go to the rod that goes up through the frame? That sounds MUCH better!

What lock does everyone else have on their F32? Bob @ Beacon say there were several models/types used, and is looking mine up.

rossjo, someone had removed the door latch on my boat before I got it so I replaced it with one just like yours as it was easy to come by, however, I agree that it is a little cheesy but I don't use the locking part, instead, I installed a seperate lock, but then I don't worry about theft at our yacht club. Some of us don't even lock our boats. The way I look at it, the lock is only strong enough to keep an honest person honest. if someone really wants to steal part or all of the boat I can use the insurance money to get an F-36.
