I have a 25 trojan ht, the fridge in it has gone bad, I have unhooked all the wires and the 115 plug, removed it from its resting place, went to take it out the door, and guess what????? it wont fit thru the door, any tips or suggestions, short of removing the rear cabin wall.

That sucks..... Take out one of the front windows.

How much smaller is the new one?
If you need to get the new one in too.. I guess you have to remove the wall.
If you are not replacing it then why not take it apart... don't cut any tubing but you should be able to cut the case down to get it out.

try taking the door of the fridge

tried removing fridge door, still about two inches to big no matter how i turn it, the new one is a little smaller and will go in barely (according to the tape measure). I dont think the front widows are any bigger than the door, but will check that. May just have to take the old one apart, with out cutting any lines.

What a bugger... A friend of mine had a 3/4 size fridge in a Viking 43 Double Cabin that got fried.... had to pull window treatments and trim, remove a side window, and cut a chunk out of the remaining framing to get it out and thew one in (with 1/4" to spare). Then had to get a guy try to match the stain and finish of the wood window trim to patch things back together. Net result was an 80% job, as you just can't match the colour of weathered and used/abused wood with any stain colour.

See if any windows or hatch are bigger than door opening (but I doubt it)... if not, follow ready123's approach and hack it in to manageable pieces, and make sure the new one fits !!! (That's another issue my friend has just adopted - the new one had to come in the same side window as it doesn't go through the door either! His wife said if they lose that fridge too, they are selling the boat 'cuz she's not gonna hack apart the trim again).

that doesn't seem possible, not that I doubt your measurements. As mentioned, there's a lot of empty space.

You'll be able to come up with 2 inches (sawz-all) pretty quickly.

Silly question, I know,,,,,but are you sure you got an F25. I have an F25 HT also. I took the door off the old fridge and it was still tight, but got the fridge out the cabin door, and the new one in, the same way. You must have a very large fridge? I'd like to see pic's of your F25, having one myself and I don't see
to many F25's on the forum.

larglo- its a f25 ht,1974. I'll get some pictures this afternoon if the sun comes out long enough.

Thanks, that would be great. I got mine last July, and have been mostly fixing it up since then. But this summer, will enjoy it very much.

Already answered your question a few weeks back....cut away the insulation on the back side and remove the door....

some people dont listen

paul, theres no insulation on the back side of the fridge, or any where on the boat. I think I have got it figured out though, I took the door off the fridge and its still about an inch to wide, it looks like I can take the door frame off the cabin and gain about 2 inches, gonna try that tomorrow.
