I'm not saying its not a great boat, but thats pretty strong in this economy.

We'll completely understand if you don't want to discuss price ...

I'm gonna send the seller an email inquiring to the boat, how long he's owned it, why he's selling her, etc. This should be interesting...

I sold it to him for 10K but it sounds like he had the top sides painted and he added a gen, but not 27K worth. I think he will be very lucky to get 20K for it.

Willie I thought the Guy who bought it took it to Newport News ? , anyway he paid 10k and did 27k in up grades ? in 3 months ??

That boat at one time, was probably pretty nice...not crazy about the top, hig side rails, or the extended taft rails. Probably uses it for hire, thus all the rail modifications. Diesels are nice...also I noticed is in one of the pics, it appears that he uses the same set-up with a tarp to keep his bottom clean, like Juiceclark's?

All that work and up top sits a dinky little radar? I have noticed that west coast boats are going for much more money than over here on the east coast.

Hey.... how about price it for its true value and hold out for your price? If you under price it, then keep slashing your price every 2 weeks until it sells, you simply perpetuate the absurdity that causes people to think a perfectly good F32 like Willie's is only worth 10K!!! These things, in good shape, are truly worth 25-55K.

It's like cheap Chinese crap de-valuing everything made in North America... but we are doing it to ourselves. Please stop giving them away!! I may want to sell mine some day and want to get a reasonable price out of it!

this boat looks like a complete and total refit, everything from new decks to cabin hatches to the interior. one of the main reasons why west coast boats are priced higher is the slip. nine times out of ten, the slip transfers with the boat and hence the higher vessel price. my dad had the tri cabin in oceanside, ca, and the slip was purchased when he moored her there. that normally adds 20-25k to the purchase price.

how i wish we could price our boats higher. i wish i could have gotten more for mine as it would have been less to finance the tri cabin.

however, the market is what dictates what people are willing to pay given the current economic circumstances. for example, i work for a major airline and the pricing model, however unfair, works the same. when airlines started charging for what used to be freebies, (and believe me, i HATE charging for what used to be free) some of the travelling public says, ''why not charge more''. well, again, in a perfect world that would be great. i'd still have a pension plan & retiree health care, and the airlines would not use chapter 11 to squeeze the hell out of its workers while the executives run away with their golden parachutes, free lifetime travel, and their bonuses. anyway, the problem with the pricing model is if airline A charges 2 dollars more per ticket than airline B, the public will go to airline B because it 'looks' cheaper. we have,as a society, conditionioned ourselves like PAVLOV'S DOGS to 'go for the lowest of the low', even if it ends up costing us more in the long run. it goes for anything from clothes to appliances. hell, i collect, repair and use vintage sunbeam appliances that were manufactured in the 1940's,'50's and '60's. these things were expensive up front, but they LAST AND STILL WORK GREAT. my mixmaster alone was made in 1955 and is comparable to anything out there. they were designed to be worked on, repaired and not thrown away when they break. the same holds true for vintage boats. sure, the fiberglass layup techniques have gotten more modern, but look how our trojans hold up over time? you cannot find this kind of workmanship unless you go to some of the high end motor yachts of today. and these boats were produced for 'the average person of the middle class'. my borker was with me when we surveyed and sea trialed the tri cabin. she had never even been aboard a vintage trojan much less a tri cabin. later that day she confided in me that this boat is nicer than a lot of the newer ones out there. she could not believe the amount of teak and over all living space found in the cabin. and this broker deals with sea rays and larson boats. the saying 'pay me now or pay me later', has never been more true. phil and i often visit 'madeinamerica.com' to buy our tee shirts, socks etc.... they are no more expensive than the crap you get at walmart or target yet wear like iron. not only that, but they are made by union workers right here in the usa. i'd rather pay a little more for made in the usa because it will last a little longer and maybe help out a family right here in the usa that might want to send their kids to college one day.
