First off I've registered my own account now after having bought my fathers F25 hardtop.
I'm having much fun working to keep her in shape.

Now to the meat of my post.
I'm trying to change the oil in it and would like to know if anyone has and recommended pump or techniques they could share.
I have an electric that proved to not pump the oil out as advertised.

Make sure the engine has been running and that the oil in the engine is nice and hot.

I have the electric pump. I make sure the engine is hot. I take the rubber hosing and put it OVER the dipstic tube and clamp in with a ss clamp, which creates a seal. Turn it on and bingo. It won't get every drop, but it will certainly take most of the oil out. My engines are Crusader 454s

i have one of these . i unscrew the dipstick and use a piece of small coppper tube and then attach the plastic pump tube it gets me closer to the pan than at the top of dipstick and i can get more out this way since i can move it around better some people just stick the tube down the dipstick hole and sucks it out very well also with just a few pumps at the beginning. will need to move it around a bit at the end to help get the last bit out. as stated make sure the engine is warmed up prior makes a world of difference. i also marked mine on the outside with a marker before the first use with a measured amount of water so i would know when i have sucked all the oil out.

Oil should be warm before changing . Todd's method works well assuming the dipstick tube goes deep enough ( varies on brands of engines ) . priming oil pump may help. Not sure what pump you have but ,The cheaper electric pumps don't work that well and warm oil is a must. I gave up on the Cheap $20 pumps years ago and got one the cost around $150 10 years ago works great. Hand pumps also seem to work well also . That pump G36 posted a link to work good also

Welcome. Out of curiosity, are you Larry's son whose username was Larglo?

I use torcans vaccume sucker, so you would have to ask him what it is. However if I recall the first time he used it on his boat he did it cold and it took over an hour to drain his case. I borrowed his pump the next day and went out for a blast in the lake then hook up the pump and sucked that puppy out in under 10 mins (half beer),,,

p.s. before you screw on the new filter, put a bit of oil on the rubber gasket! While I am babbling consider a product such as slick 50 at this time

I was a newb, and no one had told me to warm up the engines.

Install this setup.... I can remove oil from both engines AND the genny in under 5 minutes
