tri-cabin owners proof read
Hi all, I am chugging along with the book and I am at the 36 Tri-Cabin. I am looking for any Tri-Cabin owners that can proof the 36 t section and make sure I've got the facts right. I didn't have mush to go on and the info was spotty at best. Nicer photos would be good too.
Update on the book, I've got 3 more F boats to do then I move on the meter boats. And then back to the wood boats ( if I can find enough info). Charlie Underwood (president of Trojan) is helping with the history part.
Please feel free to tell me what's wrong with the info below- don't hold back!

My 1974 has 400 cid Chryslers 280 H.P. each. Also, I have 2x80 gal fuel tanks. good luck with your quest.

Paul, I looked and starting in 72 the standard equipment list shows a 3 burner stove with oven. My info goes up to 85 so it might have changed in 86 and 87 I'll look into it.prowlersfish wrote:Stove was standard oven was a option

I'll look through the mountain of paperwork and email you what I can. Somewhere I saw a spec sheet. The fuel and water tanks are stamped
I don't think the stove was available in '87

I have a 1980 ? trojan spec sheet and it lists the apox weight as 15,500 , 500 lbs less then the conv. I do find that low But thats what it says . I thought I have seen it listed heavier then that in other Trojan info .
And Don't forget about the Tri-Fly

the princess 3 burner electric stove with oven and rotisserie was included in all models as standard equipment, until 1980. that's when the 'microwave' rave took hold. trojan then used a 3 burner princess electric cook top and tappan microwave oven under the cooktop, the stove/oven was an option. with the redesign in 1979, the standard 10cu foot ge fridge freezer became the norm. there was a transitional design to get the 'flush deck' model to market in 1977 which had the standard marvel 5cu foot under counter fridge/freezer and the built in "L" shaped seatee was moved from starboard to port.prowlersfish wrote:Aarons tri only has a stove , I remeber him talking about it .summer storm wrote:Paul, I looked and starting in 72 the standard equipment list shows a 3 burner stove with oven. with the further evolution in late 1980, the aft cabin port lights (3 on each side) were replaced with sliding plexiglass windows, '' allowing for more air and light'' or says the 1982 sales brochure i have.
various trim options were also included, i.e. teak toe rails and extra pin stripes on the cabin sides and hull to what was call the ''trojan special edition''.
from 1980 to 1986 (for the 1987 model year) standard fuel tankage was 220gallons and water was 66gallons. for the end of the model run, fuel was 300gallons and water was, i believe, 100 gallons.
let's not forget the f-36 tri fly which i believe only ran from 1976 to 1977.
so far though, the chapter looks good.... i can try to send you a copy of the 1982 sales brochure which shows the "L" shaped galley to the port side and the aft cabin. thanks for including me in on this. i need to keep my brain active so i don't suffer from chemo brain..... i can also try to include photo copies of bubala 3, the original 1972 f-36 tri cabin.
galley evolutions....... sea raider tri cabin (1969-1972), f-36 tri cabin (1972 until 1979) and tri fly had
princess 3 burner electric stove with oven and rotisserie
5cu foot marvel under counter fridge freezer
ceramic double sink
1980 to 1987
princess 3 burner electric stove top and under stove tappan microwave.
single stainless steel deep bowl sink
10cu foot general electric fridge freezer (an optional raritan ice maker took the place of the double galley storage area just to the right of the sink.
for the end of the model run, the galley was moved forward to the port side and occupied nearly all the full forward bulkhead. the stove top by princess was a two burner model, the microwave/convection oven was standard and and under counter refrigerator was placed under the stove top. i believe that the entertainment center contained the under counter freezer. i'm a little fuzzy on that piece of information.
aaron
let's not forget the color schemes too..... everything from turquoise and blue (shag carpet was standard in the early 1970's!!) to harvest gold and muted tans.
