well just picked up my props from the shop and got a pair of 4 blades for a good price, thanks Simcoe prop repair. they look so nice I hate to put them in the water, lol. I have a stupid question as I didn't pay attention when I removed them. what is confusing me are the engines, I have a tri-cabin and the engines are mounted backwards, do I follow the rotation marked on the engines of do I reverse the props.
any advice would be greatly appreciated

Looking at your photo Port over Starboard on the rack as I see it.

Right hand prop, RH marked on prop goes on starboard side. Providing current setup is original.

On my f28 with v drives, the orange arrow on the engines points to center line on each engines, props turn over the top toward the side of boat. Starboard prop turns clockwise looking forward at the prop, Port prop turns Counter clockwise again looking forward at the prop. I think most boats the props turn that way. Actually the drives had an orange rotation arrow on the side of the drive by the output when original.

Hate to get confusing but the engines turn opposite of the prop on my v-drive boat. If you were to turn the engines around as in a standard drive boat they would be turning the same as props with my setup. My paragon PV31 reverse the turn of the prop.

Do not know if you have Paragons or another brand of Vs.

well I was up at the boat this weekend and had a look at the engines and I have the rotation arrows pointing to the center of the boat, and it is the original set up to the best of my knowledge, that being said the right hand prop will go on the starboard side, and left on port.

That seems odd. In case something has been changed, I'd run at least one engine and put it in gear just long enough to see which way the shaft actually rotates in forward before I installed the props.

With my paragon Vdrives that is exactly what happens. Engines turns towards boat center and drives top gear which drives bottom gear to the outside which is the way the prop needs to turn. My original 319s has engine rotation marked with orange arrow from factory and the vdrive had and arrow also indicating prop rotation.

that is what I would expect to see. Yes different config for v-drive.

Don't confuse yourself with the V-drives or the rotation of the engines paired to those drives... When viewed from behind a twin engined inboard boat, the starboard prop always turns to the right (clockwise), and the port prop always turns to the left (counterclockwise).

ok so up at the boat this weekend again,and had another quick look at the engines and there is prop rotation arrows on the velvet drives not engine rotation arrows and it says rotation towards the center of the boat on both sides, as far as I know this is the original design, so with that being said:
counter clockwise on starboard
clockwise on port.
does this sound correct

I have not been too concerned about it yet as I have been refinishing the top deck, got 4 coats down so far been quite the challenge as the weather has not been cooperating with me, the temp barely get above 10 c the minimum to put the varnish on and its rains almost every day or so

Yes but if your engines are mounted backwards, I take it you mean the front of the engines face aft, you also have Vdrives which likely spin the wheels in the opposite direction.
