Re: Fixin her up!
Ok, she is in the water, now comes the first initial cleaning.... Kids cannot wait :). Is there a source for new metal rub rail? There are some pretty scuffed up and dented sections I would like to replace. Oh, And, updated the pic! If Bob can not help you out try Taco Metals out of Maimi. That is ...

Re: International For Auction
I bought the boat. I will likely have to start a thread, but any ideas on how to remove the teak on the transom and gunwall? Do I have to drill out the teak screw plugs or is there a trick from the underside? The wood is gorgeous but is in need of a complete strip and refinish, its has years of oil...

Re: Twin Disc oil
My 450 hp, 671TI's are mated with the Twindisc M507A's in my 12 Meter. You can go to any Napa and get their straight 40 weight house oil, which is made by Ashland and is CF2 rated. Here locally it runs about $75.00 per 5 gal. I have always used the same oil in my Twindiscs as I use in the engines as...

Re: no oil pressure
Sorry Jerry but your mistaken ( on the packaging part) We buy the "E" filters by the 1000's . They come to us in the bulk package not in there own box . But Maybe able to be ordered that way .they both meet OEM specs but compare a PF47E to a PF47 compare the base their not the same . I ca...

Re: no oil pressure
Avoid the PF-2E & PF-20E the E is for economy most auto parts stores do not sell the E filters as they come in a bulk package. ( still better then fram IMO ) . Sorry, but the E at the end of the AC Delco oil filter part number does not stand for economy. Do a search for AC Delco ecore. The regu...

Re: Project Trojan 12 Meter International
Its been a while since I posted an update. The hull has been completely restored engines have been re-installed. The boat is on a trailer. Re-designing the interior layout. The project is taking longer than I expected. Need some help ?? 1. Oil Bath? Are the vents on the starboard and port side conn...

Re: Project Trojan 12 Meter International
My 12 Meter has one exhaust blower on each side of the boat connected to the side vents. I have never seen a factory install of intake blowers on a boat before. I believe if you did have intake blowers on a boat you are putting a band-aid on another issue which would be not enough ventilation area p...

I don't believe, unless you have a 240v system, that you can even run a 24,000 btu unit.

Re: possible engine replacement
As that engine is set up now, yes it was used with an outdrive. If you unbolted the rear bell housing with mounts and removed the engine coupler from the end of the crank shaft you can certainly use the engine with an inboard setup if you wish as all you need are the proper peripherals to go along w...

Re: Butyl Tape or 3M 4200
Lots of good advice here. I know this has been debated just as much as which prop nut goes on first.... the big one of the little one?.... But, working on boats for as long as i have I do not believe there is any circumstance that could rear its head that I would ever use 5200 anywhere on my boat.

Your boat looks great Scott!
I could use one of those sofas. What a deal you got on that.
Everything that I have been looking at is about three times what you paid.

Re: Crusader 454 Stalling, barely running
I had a friend that was having a similar issue and had gone through a couple of mechanics before he asked me to take a look. I hope this pic turns out as I took it with my phone, but here is what I found. http://i883.photobucket.com/albums/ac37/xmeter/IMG_20120623_095936_zps388eea1b.jpg Yes, those a...

Re: TVs
I have been using LCD TV's on my boat since they first came out with flat screen TV's and, like you, where they end up being mounted makes if very difficult to remove them easily. Saying that, I have never removed any of them for winter storage and to date I have not had any issues at all. I normall...

Re: Newbie saying hello
Welcome aboard. Did you purchase a local boat? Thanks everyone. We bought the boat here in Erie. It's on the cradle on at PI Marina now. Hopefully we will put in Sunday and keep it at Perry's Landing. I was just wondering as a friend of mine sold his F32 just before he passed away a few years ago a...
