killing impellers
Thanks for all the replies. My initial thought was in line with those who suggest a worn out housing. I think the space just past the offset (cam) is worn and when the bent vane is supposed to flex and cause a suction it is losing the vacuum and thereby not drawing water into the pump body. But i am...

killing impellers
I have a Kohler 5E gen set in my Trojan 10 Meter. I have replaced the impeller in the raw water pump twice in the last month and don't know why they are failing. I have attached a picture to show what it looks like when it stops working. When i first replace the impeller it works fine then after sev...

OK I've been back to the marina and here's what I found. If I ground the sender wire the gauge pegs hot. Si I assume that means the wire is good. So here's where I am. The gauge works, the wire is good, and the sender is new. So what's left? I'm starting to think maybe the thermostat is just stuck o...

Smell raw fuel while running
Those of you who watch this forum probably already know this but I recently bought a 1985 Trojan 10 meter with Crusader 454's and I'm slowly working the bugs out of it. We took her offshore this weekend and the whole time we were running I could smell raw gasoline from the cockpit. I checked all lin...

Temp gauge problem
I have a 1985 Trohan 10 Meter with crusader 454's. The engine water temp gauge on the starboard engine stopped working. I verified the gauge iss good by swapping it with the Port engine gauge and the one I thought was faulty works fine on the other engine. So then i replaced the water temp sending u...

1985 10 meter transom
Does anyone know or have info on how the transom on my 1985 10 meter is built. My swim platform has started to flex at the transom because of the platform getting caught up in the dock during rough weather. I am trying to determine what my options are and knowing how it was constructed would help gr...

Help identifying my Trojan
I recently bought a Trojan International. I would like to identify the exact model for obtaining manuals and ordering parts. I know it's a 1985. The numbers on the hull are TRJLF011E485 The numbers on the electrical panel are a little hard to read 3?1 5011 The blurry number of course would solve the...

Crusader 454 raw water pump rebuild question
I broke a belt on my raw water pump last trip out but I don't know if the belt was bad or if the pump caused the belt failure. Without a belt on the pump should I be able to turn the pump pulley by hand? And if so should it be easy or hard to turn? I don't really want to rebuild it for no reason.
