LOL, that boat looks like it is older than my grandfather. You guys laugh about finding good deals, but it so fun. I am rebuilding on 1978 aquasport 222 that I bought off a guy on gainsville florida for 300$. It is a solid hull on came on an aluminum float on trailer. He even gave me new 92 gallon a...

I am not pursuing that boat. I would like an 30' or larger express hardtop trojan that is in decent shape- but with a bad engine or engines. I would then pic up a used detroit ot IH 7.3 diesel to push the boat at around 20knots. I am always looking for deals. Looked at a 28' chris craft catalina wit...

I wonder what would happen if you put a single 200 hp diesel in an f30? Would perform like like a fast trawler- getting good fuel economy at about 15 knts?

I think I am leaning toward something like a semi- displacement hull. Something that could cruise at about 15knots - top end around 20knts. I think the trojan hull is a planning hull and may not be really efficient at 15 knots? Is this true? Does anyone have any experience with this? How efficient i...

I live in Valdosta,ga. I am partnering up for a boat with a friend who lives in miami. We want to leave it docked down there. We have been to the keys lots of times with smaller boats and rented houses and such, but we want to take the jump over to the bahamas, maybe start vacationing over there , a...

Thanks for all the info. I have not actually put my eyes on the boat yet. He is about 500 miles from me. I was looking at a chris craft catalina, but I thought a trojan might be a better built hull. I am not looking for something to cross florida straights in 10-12ft seas , just something that will ...

http://www.orbconstruction.com/forsale/index.html these are pictures the guy sent me. It needs cosmetic work for sure. He is asking 2500$ delivered. He said it will run in the 20mph range. You can cross to bimini in a 25' fishing boat in the summer if the weather is calm. I am just looking for info ...

Newbie F30 1978

I am looking at buying a 1978 30' express hardtop- I assume it is an f30. It has a single screw chrysler 440 330hp. What kind of performance can I expect out of this boat. The boat is out of the water and in need of mainly cosmetic work. I am getting a boat mainly for a weekender for about 4 people ...
