Happy New Year to all !!!
Hello again gentlemen, I'm still in the background. I didn't do much boating last Summer due to discovering Colon Cancer and then having sugery. Lots of testing and Doc. appointments ate up most of my season but I was always checking in to see what you guys were up to. I'm leaning towards selling th...

Re: 1977 clean machine upgrade?
Like Prowlersfish said, check the stringers, rear cockpit areas and bow areas around the anchor for soft spots they can be expensive and time consuming projects. If you can do it I say go for it. You can't believe the room in the rear cockpit area. I've had six people sitting comfortably, also a goo...

Molded raw water hose
Just wondering if anyone has had a hard time finding molded water hoses for a Chrysler 318? I tried finding the Raw water hose that goes from my raw water pump to the heat exchanger and I was told it was discontinued ??

Ignition Control Module
Hey Guys, I'm thinking of replacing the ignition control module on the starboard motor,( Mopar 318's) nothing wrong with the existing one. Had to replace one on port motor last year and was thinking of preventive maintenance by replacing it and keeping the existing one as a spare. My question is, if...

Re: engine/marine gear oil ?'s
Delo is good I just prefer Rotella I would have no issue using most name brands . As far as adding "Lucus zinc heavy break in oil" if your breaking in a cam that's fine but not needed other wise . And could down grade the oil , if your are to believe the report by 740rat or what ever his ...

Re: engine/marine gear oil ?'s
Did my research a couple of years ago, I basically did a Google search and thats what I found. But it is inconclusive, some sites state that the "newer" Rotella has less zinc (900ppm) than the old (1200ppm) and some say the opposite?? At the time I did my research I compared Delvac, Rotell...

Re: engine/marine gear oil ?'s
Did a lot of research , Mobil Delvac 15-40 has the most zinc and is only $12 a gallon at Wally World ! I was going to use Rotella but after some research the newer stuff contains less zinc than the old stuff.

Re: Shaft Packing
All great suggestions !! thank you. I plan on going to Harbor Freight for a set of picks that they sell. I'm going to do it on the hard in the Spring then have them splash it. I read only to hand tighten initially, I was wondering how much water I'll get once it's splashed. Is it a dribble or should...
