Re: shaft packing,traditional or dripless
My Trojan 350 exp came with NORSCOT dripless shaft seals. Great item. They work with three lip seals and a reservoir with ATF. The manual says seals should be replaced every 1000 hrs. I had boat on the hard two years ago and removed shafts for normal maintance and replaced the seals. NO drips.

Re: 1996 36' Trojan
I tried to download a picture of how to tell engine rotation, but failed. If you look at the belts and pulleys and they turn CLOCKWISE, you have a LEFT HAND ROTATION, then of course if the belts and pulleys turn COUNTER CLOCKWISE, you will have a RIGHT HAND ROTATION. Most, if not all Crusader engine...

Re: 1995 Trojan 350 Cruiser
I have owned our Trojan 350 for over ten years. Great boat. I am very tall (6'7") and this boat has the head room I need. Very fun to drive, gets on plane and cruises at 3200rpm @ 23-25mph. The Crusader engines are great. When I bought the boat, first thing I did was removed all the port holes ...

Re: Sandy Hook, NJ to Stuart, Florida.
I just got back yesterday from delivering a 42' Cruisers yacht from Brunswick, GA. to Tampa, FL. What a great trip. We stayed in the ICW and had no problems. A few long (15 miles) of no wake because of Manatee zones. Never saw a Manatee, but lots of no wake signs. Diesel fuel was $1.42 gal in Brunsw...

Re: underwater lights
Underwater lights are a nightmare! First, if you moor your boat in a area with barnacle growth, the diver will use a putty knife of sort to remove the creatures. In time, this process will scratch the lens of the lights and sooner or latter, the lens will crack or break. Second. If decided to go wit...

Re: Sherwood G-7 Raw Water Pump
I am fresh water cooled and change my impeller and t-stat annually also. A lot of people say the impeller will go for a couple years and the t-stat will last 5 years. I have never had to chase impeller vanes or cancel a trip due to temperature.

Re: Crusader 454 needs priming to get it started
Don't know if your engine is a 454xl or not. But my 454xl had the same problem and it was the oil pressure switch (Crusader part # 98220) that controls the fuel pump on start up.

We had the same issue with our Vacu-flush. I installed a SeaLand SaniGard holding tank vent filter. Kind of pricey, but my 'boat fart' issue is fixed!

Re: Optimum RPM range for big blocks
I run our 1995 350 express with Crusader 454's at 3200-3500 rpm. My Garmin GPS says 22-25 mph and fuel burn rate of 21-24 GPH. She is on plane with the four barrels kicked in and what a sweet sound !

Re: WHAT IN THE NAME OF MARINE ENGINEERING IS THIS?
It is called a sea chest. all sea water cooling water goes thru it. Great safety idea. Just one hole in the bottom of boat is much better than a bunch.

Re: Who's running dripless shaft seals?
I have NORSCOT dripless shaft seals in the 1995 350 express with 454 Crusaders V drives. With over 800 hrs and have zero problems. When I had to rebuild the STBD engine, I also replaced the lip seals for the shaft seal. NORSCOT is still in operation and they sent me the right one and install was eas...

Re: $2.00 Gas
We have been dealing with $5.00 gallon of gas for the boat for so long, I don't really care who, what, why gas is dropping!! I just know that we are planning a lot more longer trips this year.

Re: 390 Express Cruiser "Rope Locker- How much?"
My 1995 350 express has a anchor locker that is at least four feet deep. Enough room to stow hundreds of feet of anchor rode. I have 30 feet of chain and 180 feet of line. Never had a anchoring issue in the Florida Panhandle
