I wish I was up north where most of you live. Down here on the St. Johns River the water is so salty, the engines and manifolds take a huge beating from the barnacles and algea growth. The average down here where folks start worrying about engine overhaul is around 1000hrs. I help folks buy and sell...

Congrats! You're about to find out our little "secret" LOL. These are some of the best made, heaviest, stable, widest, economical, maneuverable and easy to work on boats out there. I noticed the engine hours on Nancy's Ad. I'm sure the rest of the group will join in to suggest you upgrade ...

Roy? That has happened to me several times. Take out the phillips screws holding the handle together and look down there. I have had plants and all sorts of crap sucked in from our polluted river. The black gasket at the top of the handle gets wore out too. West marine sells the whole rebuilt kit fo...

I have never pushed her to top speed Capt. Ross. I do know she will get up on plane at 2100rpms and run 15mph. After that? it seems I gain about 1-2mph every 100rpms. They are rated to 2800rpms I believe. I went with conservative props (20X23) for better fuel savings and quicker get up and go with 1...

Re: Welcome

Do what I did Rick...spend a little money on a nice cruiser were you can carry 12 passengers or less. Clean it up and charter it for party cruises at an affordable price and your gonna have fun and make a little money at it too. LOL Rick already has the same boat , The problem is with 12 passengers...

fireranger33 Believe it or not mine are closer to the floor In-line 6 but still wide . Do you still had saddle tanks in the salon ? The engines look to wide for them . I wonder if you could make a duct to a side mount air box or filter ? Them 2 stroke diesels can make some noise even with a air box...

Re: Welcome

Welcome to the forum...Nice looking Trojan! I noticed you are a licensed Capt. and was wondering if you know of anybody needing a Capt? I presently hold a 50-ton master with Tow Assist and MROP. After 1 more hitch in the Oil Patch I will be getting my 100 ton master. Any sugestions? Thanks, Rick - ...

Thank you Paul. Let's just say that you are literally standing on the engines at the salon. When the previous owner did the conversion? My guess is they did not measure or allow for enough clearance to add a filter "box" on top of the engines. I have a screen filter and about 2 inches of c...
