DOG, My boat is an F32 '76 with original tanks, can you give me a little more info on what your using, and why the change. We are only 3 years in to this venture and need to get as much info for these older boat as possible.

Is there a simple or guaranteed method to detect stringer issues. I do not see any indication of failure from the outside of the stringers and have tapped in several places with a hammer and seam to get a consistent sound that I assume ( Yeh I know ass of you and me ) is solid or every one is rotten.

Don't go with a power grinder and 40 grit paper. Your boat is, I assume original and well taken care of, which means you have cleaned and polished or waxed over the years.
