Re: How do you get the cover off this thing?

Thanks, I will look for the push pins. As far as teak goes nothing some sandpaper, Sikkens and my wife can't handle.

How do you get the cover off this thing?

http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q574/boatsnbars/c9b7b1b3-3340-49c7-bcb9-d3dc85cc481a.jpg I want to take the cover off my windlass for cleaning and inspection. It's old school, but it works fine. Can't figure out how to get the cover off. Please disregard condition of the teak, it is on the list.

Thanks, I will pass that on. I was joking about the restraining order, he is just not a computer guy.

1982 10 Meter

I have a friend who has a 1982 10 Meter. He wants to know where the A/C was located. It was an option on his boat and he wants to install an all in one unit. Does any one have pictures of the ducts, compressor, air handlers, controls, etc? I told him just to join the group, but he doesn't have a com...

Re: A small project or what have I gotten into

Here are some of my door. It was done by a PO. The cover is off and I will try to get some close-ups for any one brave enough to attempt this project.

Re: Leaky "10G" Plumbing Fittings

I have the same stuff in my 1988 F-36. I am reworking some of my plumbing to make winterizing easier. Check some RV/camper supply sites for replacement parts. I have not looked too hard for it because I am using PVC fittings from local stores for my changes. I use a little teflon tape when ever I re...

Make sure there is some thing on the rudder shaft to prevent it from falling out. I repacked my old (non Trojan) boat on land and when I removed everything and loosened the packing nut the rudder slid right out on to the ground. It was my first time repacking and I remember being glad I did it on la...

My wife wouldn't be too happy with that thing sticking out of our salon floor. Plus I think it would suck all the beer out of the fridge.

With all that stuff, what do you use for an excuse when you make a wrong turn? Kidding aside, what software are you running on you laptop. I am converting to laptop navigation and I am looking for options.

I switched to water based HydroKote. It's ablative, cleans up with water and works great.

@triguy

That's not Fred's work, owner told me the guy's name, but I forget it right now. If anyone want his name I will post it.

@T-bone

My F-36 is a little further down on your left.

This boat is at my club, his slip is just behind mine. The piping was custom made by a local (boston area) guy. The owner of the boat made the fiber glass top himself. You can see in the picture it has built-in spreader lights and led courtesy lights.

Had this happen on my old boat once, turned out to be the main ground wire from the engine to the DC ground panel. Rotted off on the engine end. I would be looking for a ground problem.

I am a member of the club where this boat is located. Congratulations and good luck. I have a 1988 F-36 that I bought last year partly because of information I got for the PO of your boat.
