Used Generator

We have an opportunity to buy a used and tuned 1985 Onan 6.5 KW generator, hours unknown but in good condition. Does anyone have an idea on what the average purchase and installation cost would be? Our Trojan had a generator and it was removed, so installation would not be from scratch. Thanks for a...

This was a very lively topic on boatered last summer: http://www.boatered.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=117170 Seems there are a lot of boaters on board with the Honda portables. As long as it's used with care (just like the gas outboards we all carry on board for our dinks), seems to be a very popul...

Agreed, Bill. Or - unless you're in FL. It looks like we are making the right decision. Not like 5K is easy to come by these days! Thanks.

I searched through several F-32s to find one without a generator. I didn't like the gen starting up just to have a couple lights on. I have met a couple of people that have taken them out for Less weight for running and less noise at anchor. If my battery bank gets low I run one engine for a while ...

It's worked perfectly and ultra comfortable - even has a kidney-shaped side table that swivels back and forth (but unfortunately not up and down to get out of the way). Still, a great price and we love it.

We replaced our original sleeper sofa with a one-armed Mysinge chaise from IKEA - go to ikea.com and look for MYSINGE...

Removable, washable covers, and it fits perfectly inside the F32 on the port side!

I have a 15 or a 20 gallon (can't remember) holding tank under the V berth and a regular electric mascerating toilet in the head. Work well enough but I plan on converting the toilet to use fresh water. My only complaint is smell from the seawater that sits in the toilet for any period of time. Wit...

Yes, scurvydog, if you could please let me know what you did - did you install yourself? About how much did it cost, if I may ask?

We have an old (I believe original) Sealand 911-m28 gravity discharge head on board with an 8 gallon holding tank. Before we replace with the new 711-m28 with a 9 gallon  capacity, I'd be interested in hearing what any of you have done with the holding tank capacity in your Trojan. Economy is o...
