Re: Carter AFB Question

Last year I had a major problem with my AFB. Someone recommended that I stay with the Carter as they are better built. Luckily I was put on to a great 'old' carb guy who totally rebuilt it and it works like new! Total cost $195, well worth it, couldn't be happier. This allowed me to simply...

Re: thermostat temp question

After many years I was able to find the 140's which was stock on my 1980 F-25 w/318 raw water cooled. They have been working just fine, running 140-150 instead of 165-190 with the replacement 165. There must have been a reason they were originally installed. Glad I was able to find them. :D

Re: Re WaxingHull ?

We've used polish with PTEF (teflon) for the last 25 years (bought it new) on our F-25 and would use nothing else, nothing goes on easier, faster or lasts as long. People who know how old the boat is always comment on how good it looks, it does too. The only place I find it now is at West Marine. 8)

Re: Chrysler intake manifold 4142022

You can use a "carb wedge", if needed. Search AFB carb wedge. ASSuming an AFB. Kiwi I know about the wedge but I can not use it as the thermostat is mounted in the manifold and the wedge would raise the carb too high. I need the original style manifold 2846707 or similar. Also, the wedge ...

Re: Trojan 1983 F32

[quote="rossjo"]Be sure to check that the old impeller hasn't ripped any blades off. If blades are missing, be sure to blow them back (backflow the system with low/medium pressure water to push them out), or they will plug things up and cause overheating when you run the engines at speed ....

Re: Chrysler intake manifold 4142022

Larry, I've noticed that. However, it seems that the only one still available is the 3 degree model. Any idea where to find an 11 degree manifold?

Chrysler intake manifold 4142022

Is the 4142022 intake manifold the replacement for the 2846707?
How high is the Carburetor base at the rear of the base? I need at least 1 inch. The original is 1.15 inch high.
