Re: distributor replacement M360
I did this on my engines. If you are going protronics you will have to replace the coil. The new wiring is simple. Just follow the protronics wiring. Be sure that the coil matches the module you are installing. you can remove any unused wires or tie them up

Re: 36ft Trogan tricabin
Water seperators are also called fuel filters. Mine were located on the forward bulkhead in the engine compartment. The are different on a gas or diesel engine however most all marine engines have them. The purpose is to separate water from the fuel like the name implies. Follow the fuel line back f...

Re: 36ft Trogan tricabin
As a former tri-cabin owner (hurricane Michael got her) I will add my 2 cents. I have moved up to a 46 Pacemaker and I have similar lights, from what I can see, they are the water warning on the Racor water separators. One way to tell is to check behind the lights and see if they have small square b...

Re: Hurricane Michael
Here are the final pictures of Trivia Pursuit. She was salvaged and moved to a yard where she will be crushed. I removed everything that was not bolted down yesterday. If you look carefully at the pictures you will see that all the under water tackle is bent and therefore makes the boat not repairab...

Hurricane Michael
As many of you know an almost Cat 5 hurricane struck the panhandle of Florida on Wednesday. Out Tricabin, Trivia Pursuit was moored at a marina about 30 miles from where the eye of the hurricane came in (Mexico Beach). Trivia Pursuit is currently sitting on a mud band and did sustain some damage. Th...

Re: COIL HEATING UP AND CUTTING OUT
My distributor is a Prestolite IBM-7016, 7017 which uses kit # 91582. You can search the pertronix catalog and on page 24 is the listing for all Chrysler marine distributors. You may have to go the new distributor route or find a later module Chrysler distributor. My boat is an 81

Re: Ignition wires to battery charger?
When I removed my original Trojan charger I found wires running from the ignition to the charger. These wires are to turn off the charger when you turn on the ignition. I have since replaced the charger with one that has more smarts the pro sport from pro mariner. I have the 20a 3 battery charger.

Re: COIL HEATING UP AND CUTTING OUT
I have another distributor that came out of one of my engines. It still has the Chrysler setup and I do not think that the shaft is worn. What you want to do is look on the tag on your distributor and that will determine which kit you need. I have Chrysler 360s. PM me for more info.

Re: COIL HEATING UP AND CUTTING OUT
The pertronix kit can be installed in the stock distributor. You remove the reluctor wheel and the plate with the pickup then install the pertronix kit. You will need to bypass the ballast resistor and the electronic box for the distributor. You will also need a new coil. Just follow the wiring diag...

Re: COIL HEATING UP AND CUTTING OUT
I have switched to a Mallory on the starboard engine and to a pertronix on the port engine. I have some spare parts left over for the Chrysler dizzy. If you want to keep the Chrysler PM me and I will let you know what I have.
