Re: Engine won't start - clicking from relay in battery box
Back to your OP first: By "clicking," do you mean "click," or "click click click click click?" I think you've got Prowlersfish confused...... As for the neutral switch question, you've got a wiring diagram, right? I pulled mine out. Looks like all the neutral switch do...

Re: Engine won't start - clicking from relay in battery box
"Am I understanding that it would start jumped at the starter solenoid it would start then you replaced it and no longer does ?" Yes you are correct. I'll be checking for low voltage today. For the neutral safety, would the engine start and continue to run when I jump the starter? Trying ...

Re: Engine won't start - clicking from relay in battery box
That solenoid/relay is for the system that jumps the batteries . The problem may have been the neutral safety switch . But now it sounds like you have a starter solenoid issue too . Bad part or a Install issue ? So likely 2 problems to diagnose and fix . The relay/solenoid in the battery box clicks...

Engine won't start - clicking from relay in battery box
20200525_162659.jpg Hello all, Hope everyone is doing well, some crazy times with covid-19. Looking forward to boating season. Except my port engine won't start. I changed the solenoid on the starter as I thought it was the issue due to the following: 1) using switch at helm, engine wouldn't start,...

Engine damage do to prop impact?
Hi all, Quick question, would engine damage (causing misfiring) be do to prop impact? Having engine issue after repair of transmission by marina. Went for seatrial and could not test WOT due to starboard engine misfiring, losing power on the top end. Would this just be a simple fix with spark plugs,...

Electric propulsion hybrid retrofit
Hello all, I have been thinking of a way to create a hybrid electric system This would be a test that could lend to full conversion. Trying to figure out electric motor and connection options. My thought it to have a chain gear inserted between the transmission and shaft coupler, then use chain driv...

Re: Drive advice needed - Starboard Velvet Drive failed
To add to prowlersfish's response, smaller props will not do as well at slow speeds. Our props are smaller than stock and I often have to use some throttle to get the boat to respond when docking. Larger props would help with this and I will eventually swap them out. Thank you for your posts WayWeG...

Shore water connection not working
Hi All,
Our shore water hook up does not switch to allow water flow, we can only use the on board water tank.
Any thoughts on what the issue could be?

Re: Drive advice needed - Starboard Velvet Drive failed
Update: Pulled the starboard drive, had to take manifold, alternator, etc off and pulled it right out the main hatch. took the boat out this weekend on one engine (getting pretty good at it, but definitely easier to drive with two :) ) Unfortunately I'm noticing the other drive slipping, so it looks...

Re: Drive advice needed - Starboard Velvet Drive failed
Definitely good and valid points.
Hopefully I could find a repair place that can fix it in a reasonable time.
Thank you all for your input and advice.
