Re: 89 mid cabin battery wiring
Suggest you check out deep cycle for your house bank not dual purpose but that’s just my opinion. Figure out how much your house bank needs by adding up the amps used per hour when nothing is charging that battery and get a deep cycle to meet or exceed that by another 25%

Re: Leaking salon windows in 12m convertble
I had what I thought was window leakage into the cabin but it turned out it was from old/hardened or non-existent sealing between the railing mounting bolts and the cabin top. I backed off the screw just enough to get some room to squeeze in some silicone sealant between the rail mount and the cabin...

Re: 89 mid cabin battery wiring
OK, now here goes again. Been having trouble posting my reply even though my UN and PW are accepted by the website. I think you need to figure out what your house bank needs are. 100AH deep cycle may be enough but if it’s lead acid then you’re really only supposed to discharge it down to 50% of capa...

Re: 89 mid cabin battery wiring
Do you have the AC/DC wiring schematic that came with the boat? Would be a big help with your questions if you did. If not contact Bob to see if he can sell you one. Suggest you run a list of the DC amp hour draw of your house needs to get a better idea of the size of the deep cycle battery you need...

Re: Panel Question
Thinking it’s tank indicator since it’s next to what looks like the fresh water pump switch. Is there a read-out on your instrument panel?

Simple question: Did you check the contents of the old gas filters when you changed them? Hope they didn’t look like this

Re: Glad to be here!
Welcome, Steven. Nice to see another F26 owner here. We’ve had ours since 1999 and use her every time we can. I’ve done extensive electrical work as well as interior updates. Feel free to ask for advice.

Re: ProNautic Battery Charger Install Problem
Great post! I have been using MRBF for years, but I had room in the old battery boxes for them. When I went over to LFP for the house bank I still used MRBF but installed a pos and neg buss bar and attached them to the pos side of that. I don’t use or need battery boxes for the LFP because there is ...

Nice job! Had old cushions in our 77 F26 redone a few years back and it was costly. You saved $ and learned a new skill.

Re: Noise at shaft?
Thanks. All good advice. The squeal is only present in gear (forward) at >1300 RPM. Stuffing box might be the cause.

Noise at shaft?
After my rudder and prop were repaired/replaced last year when I finally discovered “the rock” after 44 years on the same lake, things were running well, but I notice a high pitched “squeal” at between 1000 and 1200 RPM, and it seems to be coming from the shaft. The shaft was measured during the rep...

Re: F26 Completely rebuilt
What engine did you go with the replace the old one? The fridge is an Isotherm? I’m replacing my original “Nevercold” at the end of this season (upstate NY, too) and thinking about the Isotherm. Really like what you’ve done to that old lady. I’ve had our 1977 F26 HT since 1999, and have replaced/upg...

Re: inclinometer - correct way to measure running angle?
I’m an old rag boater but never used an inclinometer on the F26. I use rpms and speed and tweak the trim tabs for best performance, ie speed on the gps vs rpms on the tach. With no tabs (I lost hydraulic fluid crossing Lake Oneida years ago) the boat was definitely ass heavy. For me it’s the way I f...

1500W inverter on the list. Right now it’s propane and a French press. Gotta have coffee no matter what!
