A very quick response from Bob:
“Crusader did not design the replacement hose to be used with the internal fuel filter.”
Thanks Bob. Thanks prowlersfish.

Re: Crusader Retrofit Flex fuel line (pump to carb)
Doh! Important details… 1984 Crusader 270 with a Rochester Quadrajet. I’ve used this filter in the past: https://marinepartssource.com/fuel-filt ... ra-18-7869

Crusader Retrofit Flex fuel line (pump to carb)
Is anyone familiar with this Crusader retrofit kit? https://www.marineengineparts.com/crusader-marine-rf201012-retro-fuel-line-kit I purchased one from Beacon to replace a damaged flare fitting where the fuel line connects to the filter on the carb but the traditional fuel filters don’t fit in the n...

Re: Rochester Quadrajet high rpm issues
Well… After 3 days of replacing fuel filters, finding and fixing a fuel leak, and test runs in between… no luck. As a last resort we changed the plugs and that fixed the issue. That little filter on the carb did have a fair amount of debris in it, so maybe it was a combination of things. Time for be...

Re: Rochester Quadrajet high rpm issues
I know about the primary fuel filter and the small cartridge/screen close to the carburetor. Is there another one in the carburetor?

Re: Rochester Quadrajet high rpm issues
No recent engine work. The boat did sit last year if that helps.

Rochester Quadrajet high rpm issues
Hi all. I’m having issues with one of the engines on my F32. The engine doesn’t want to maintain RPMs at cruising speed. It runs fine at idle but will struggle to get to 3000 rpm, fall back to 2800, then surge to 3200 and back to 2800 seemingly at random. To make things worse we’re traveling about 5...

Re: F32 Hatch Seal Re-engineering
Thanks! Here's a pic of the dimensions for the u-channel in case that Amazon link doesn't stand the test of time. I also forgot to add that I decided not to seal the mating surfaces between the aluminum and plastic hatch but may do so in the future. I plan on using 3M Fast Cure 4000 UV for its bondi...

F32 Hatch Seal Re-engineering
I've been trying to solve an issue with the hatch seals/gaskets on my sort of new to me (my parents bought this boat new when I was 5) 1984 F32. We've always had issues with the foam seals wandering after being replaced. They remain water tight for about a season, then drift and become ineffective. ...

Re: Shift Cable
Dangar Marine on youtube has a tutorial that sounds like the same strategy. I've been meaning to try it on my upper helm throttle cables.
