F40 owner. Is there a way to know whether or not the check valve is open or closed for the municipal water inlet? I've found the check valve, but don't see any way to check if it's open or closed. Help???

New f40 owner curious if anyone has replaced or remodeled their very 80's rv style medicine cabinets and or remodeled their entire bathrooms/ heads?? Pics and ideas encouraged please
