Tips for reinstalling removable cabin roof on a 36' Tricabin
Had to remove my Tri-Cabin Cabin top to remove the original refrigerator & love seat, as well as repair some leaks. Now in the next few weeks it will get warm enough that a new fridge will be lowered in place, (the new LoveSac furniture will fit thru the Companionway), so it's time to put the ro...

LOOKING FOR HELP 5.7 CRUSADER EXHAUST MANIFOLD WOES
I purchased an '82 Trojan 36' Tri-Cabin in March. All seemed decent. She ran really good, although warranty went from complete to "she will start & float." Being a lifetime boater, and engines were solid, and she floated, and ran true, for the price, I feel I got a fair deal, and with ...

Re: Hydraulic Rudder Control or lack there of
Sorry, been out of the country for a bit. Came back, closed the two bleeder screws, added some pressure back, spun the wheel both directions hundreds of revolutions each direction. No change. At this point, I have so many other things to do, I am going to take care of it, and several other significa...

Re: Hydraulic Rudder Control or lack there of
Thanks guys. I'm staying aboard tonight, and will take a look before I make the bed. I will look for the purge valve lock nut in the bilge or replace it if needed, and advise. Thanks again.

Re: Hydraulic Rudder Control or lack there of
I looked for a bleeder port of any sort, and do not see any. I tried spinning th e wheel to starboard several hundred times, then back a few dozen times, nothing. I'll wait until I have a second person on board & try breaking an inlet to the hydraulic ram loose. And now, another issue has arisen...

Re: Hydraulic Rudder Control or lack there of
I'm going to stay on the boat again this evening, and will try several hundred rotations one way, and see if the rudders turned any amount. Then, this weekend, if I still do not have it fixed, my adult son will be with me, and we will try & crack the lines at the hydraulic ram, and see if we can...

Re: Hydraulic Rudder Control or lack there of
No, rudder operation is still a no-go. But the engines are both operating great. Still going to tune both up, just so I know where they're both at from the start as it were. and change filters. She was at an honest 22 MPH the other day in the inner harbor of Milwaukee, with both engines at almost id...

Re Hydraulic Rudder Control or lack there of
OK, I took the quart of Trans fluid (now I see someone has said I should not use trans fluid, but right in the Trojan manual it calls out this exact fluid, so that confuses me now too). But, I filled the sight glasses full, added my 30 PSI of air, and turned the wheel left & right in 30-40 turn ...

Re: Hydraulic Rudder Control or lack there of
Well now I know why there is a quart of ATF on board (I did read in the Trojan manuals that came with the boat that Trojan uses this same stuff in the hydraulic steering system at the factory). I see no leaks anywhere, and the bilge only has a bit of water in it from the leaky thru-hulls from each o...

Hydraulic Rudder Control or lack there of
Help! New owner of '82 36' Tri-cabin. Having issues getting rudders operational. I put 35 PSI air pressure via Schroeder valve on reservoir, but she will not move the rudders. To be honest, this is my first boat with hydraulic steering, and I see the auto pilot motor/pump mounted out board of the st...

Re: OE Autopilot
Well I had a reply written, and poof, it went away, so hopefully, I'm not polluting the water with excessive text... Sorry been absent, work sure gets in the way of living sometimes... We made the trip from Winthrop Harbor, IL to Milwaukee last Saturday. Just under 5 hours. She was launched, took he...

Safety Railing/lines
Looking for input here. Long time boater, new Trojan 36' Tri-Cabin owner. She has what I am told is a Canadian designed/common life line/rail set up. From the cockpit, all the way to the beginning of what would be the start of the bow sprit railing, instead of chrome rails at the top of stantions, a...

'82 Tri-Cabin Bow Pulpit advice.
I am about to be the proud new owner of a very clean, ORIGINAL OWNER '82 36' Tri-Cabin. About the only thing I want to change (right like I don't want to do more...) is to add a Bow Pulpit. I want to do this so I can set the anchor up for easy use, with a windlass. I am looking for opinions of other...

I just purchased a 36' Tri-Cabin, with 624 hours on a pair of Crusader 5.7 engines, & a whopping 64 hours on an Onan 6.5 Gen Set. She is 37 years old, original owners. I have 2 questions. I've been around larger boats my whole live, and we had a 28' Trojan years ago. First, is the Wagner MicroPi...
