Re: ‘76 F26
Thanks for the heads up. Didnt realize I was on the wrong forum. Jack is the main guy (maybe owner) of King Marine Electronics and Autopilot Repair. Dude knows more about these wheel pilots than anybody. And does amazing work. http://www.kingmarineelectronics.com/ Thanks again for letting me know! S...

‘76 F26
Thinking of selling my F26. Just put new bottom paint on and a new garmin sonar/chart plotter with those fancy imaging modes. Had the King autopilot rebuilt by Jack and it has a three year warranty. Put a PCM 350 in it several years ago and it has less than 300 hours. Its on the Potomac River in VA....

Re: Steering Wheel?
Ok...I went shopping for a wheel puller...then a gear puller, then a harmonic balancer puller.
Anybuddy got pics? I can’t find the right gadget for the job. “Steering wheel pullers” are really expecting a automobile type while with common hardware. Nothing I’ve seen seems to fit my wheel

Steering Wheel?
So my King AP-2000 autopilot is not working. I decided to take it off and look at it’s innards. I can’t get the ding dang steering wheel off. The nut spins off pretty easily. But the wheel just sits there mocking me. It won’t budge. Some corrosion maybe? Any ideas on how to pull that thang off witho...

Re: Amazon Festoon LED’s
I will post a couple of photos comparing them to the one fixture with Dr LED's from WM. I didn't even think about it this morning when I put them in.
They are really bright.

Re: Amazon Festoon LED’s
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XW993BP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They look just like the Mr LED bulbs from West Marine....just as bright....but a hell of a lot cheaper. I'm happy. I can't compare them to others on Amazon....there's soooooo many. But these look pretty...

Re: Amazon Festoon LED’s
I pulled the trigger on a 4-pack for $9. Beats taking my chances on a single $20 bulb at West Marine. Of course, the seller said they are the brightest LED bulbs on the market 😂. These are going into the overhead cabin/dome lights, so they point down anyway, and the lens diffuses it too. I’ll post m...

Amazon Festoon LED’s
Anyone have an idea about the variety of festoon LED’s on Amazon? How do they compare in brightness and quality to Dr LED from West Marine? It seems too good to be true, but the West Marine bulbs are like $16-26 for the same bulbs that are like $5 on Amazon.

What Prowlerfish said. Your prop could be nicked or the shaft bent slightly. Things that spin fast like balance

F26 Round Cabin Lights
Lazy question: What size bulbs do you use for the round cabin lights? I have a ‘76 F26. My boat is 10 miles away and I’m too lazy to drive down and look
I should know, I’ve bought LED’s for them before. Maybe the price so traumatized me I blocked it out

Re: Squirrelly Electrical
I traced the primary ground wire back from the ground bus to a large plug behind the engine block. All of the connections were really oxidized and kind of furry looking. I used my dremel and a soft wire wheel to polish all the posts and then a small round file to clean out all the sockets. Worked pe...

Re: Squirrelly Electrical
Battery voltage (at the battery) is normal with key on or off. Turn key to “run” and the 12v bus/fuse panel.... where all the electronics (and bilge pumps 😭) are connected...drops to 7-8 V. Literally every single dc electric device is affected. Nav lights, gps, bilge pumps, and on. But the engine st...
