Deck covering
I have just replaced my entire front deck on a 1972 42' Sea Voyager. Not being a purist, it was done with new oak stringers (joists) and two layers of marine plywood on top, stained, waterproofed and caulked. The old deck had delaminated and was filled with rot. I want to cover the front deck with c...

If it makes you feel any better, I have a '72 42' sea voyager and this happens to me on my port engine EVERY year at least once. Last year, the threads were so worn out on the coupling that I had to get a new one and the mechanic put on a new coupling ignoring the fact that the set screws did not ma...

I have twin 454s and had the same problem with my engine with water in the oil. I ended up replacing the exhaust manifolds and used OSCO for the new ones with happy results. I also have the same problem with starting the starboard engine when it is warm and would appreciate any guidance....BOAT - Br...

rapping/popping sounds from a 440 chrysler on a sea voyager
I lost the exhaust manifold on the reverse rotation chrysler 440 engine in my '72 42' sea voyager. Upon putting on the new manifold and taking it out for a test run, I am getting an erratic popping/rapping sound when the engine is under load over 1500 rpm, increasing as rpms increase. It almost soun...

I know this will be sacrilage to many but I had a similar problem with a 1972 42' sea voyager where the deck was delaminating, coming apart from the gunwales, and leaking into the ceiling of the forward cabin. Appalled at the cost of replacing the deck, I made sure any delaminated areas were nailed ...

I always loved the old Trojan lines. I have a 1972 42' Sea Voyager that was in grim condition when I bought it so I got it for very little money and have done a little more work to it every year. The layout, stability and comfort are excellent, and it is a source of great enjoyment. The old wooden T...

I have a 42 Sea Voyager, 1972 identical to yours except with a full flying bridge. The boat is in good condition although certainly not pristine nor show quality since I use it for charters and commercial cocktail cruises. I had it appraised last year and the figure came out to $ 40,000.00. I have a...

I have a 42' 1972 and have been slowly restoring it over the last few years. I had to put a new keel on it this spring and have learned a great deal about down and dirty restoration since there are no wooden boat repairers where I live. If you find one and need advice, lemme know..It is amazing what...

I did the same thing with my 42' voyager several years ago. I have a 1972 and had to remove the bridge to transport the boat. The bridge is designed to be cut just below the windshield in front of the main helm extending to the bottom of the side windows. Once cut, simply unbolt the two steel posts ...

transmission on 1972 seavoyager
I am leaking gear oil from the rear of my transmission where the propeller shaft exits the housing on a chrysler 440. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer and model number of the transmission so I can order a new seal or bushing.
