That is super nice!! I have a 1966 28' foot and very similar in condition. The decks looked varnished which might make them super hot in the summer, but they look awesome. :D

Testing ballast resistor

One more thing, you can try as a temporary test, to bypass the ballast resistor completely by connecting the two wires together. This will eliminate the lowering of coil voltage to the engine. If you have a weaker spark to begin with, the ballast resistor lowers it further.
Good Luck!

I had a similar issue on my trojan (1966 interceptor powered). I traced my issue to the ballast resistor. Actually it had to do with voltage drop between the ignition switch and wiring to the coil and ballast resistor. Check voltage with a meter after the resistor when engine is warm to determine if...

anchor question

I'm in agreement as well... You need that pointed one especially for the bow anchor. It will come up easy enough when you need to leave (Pull vertically while directly over the line). Since this is your first boat, I recommend you pick up a Chapmans piloting book as a good reference bible. This is a...

OK I have an update.... I spoke with Krista at the flag place in San Diego and they don't have any artwork for the Trojan Logo. For $85.00, they will do the artwork for whatever logo we want and then it is just the cost of whatever flag and size is wanted. I personally like the early trojan logo frm...

ok... I will post when I get an estimate..... Since I have a classic Woodie (1964) express cruiser, I want to look at a retro Trojan logo on a flag. I think something that you see on the vintage trojan ads on ebay from 1963 and 1964. Maybe they will cut us a deal if we get a fixed number of orders. ...

Trojan Penant style flag

Anybody know of anyone selling a vintage style Trojan flag so we can show our colors on our classic woodies while underway. I want to proudly show my enthusiasm for my classic trojan and ensure that newer wood boat enthusiasts know that there were more manufacturers than Chris Craft. Thanks and Chee...
