Thanks for the quick replies
Many thanks for the info thus far. I "thought" I had disconnected the gear box, etc., to leave access only to the rudders, but now you've all got me second guessing previous work. I will go down this weekend and start at the rudder shafts and work my way back up. The steering wheel turns e...

Frozen rudders
1973 TriCabin 36' has frozen rudders.... They will not turn to the right or left. Any suggestions as to how to free them up? Also, is there a better system than the old chain linked to the long rod to the rudder original set up? Also, I am presuming that this is an out of the water repair. All input...

I'm in Chula Vista and have full live-aboard status on the 36'TriCabin. She's a little over $700/mo. Pretty inexpensive living in SoCal.

1973 TriCabin aft deck leaks
Doesn't rain heavily in SoCal, but when it does, I have some pretty significant leaks where the aft deck meets the exterior wall and the water is running in on the twin bed mattresses. Any suggestions as to how to stop the water before I rip the back of the boat off? Many thanks in advance for all r...

By the way, do any of you have a copy of the electrical wiring diagram for a 1973 F36 Tri-cabin? If you do, could you email a copy to my address below?

follow up on volt meter and batteries
Thanks for the input guys... By the way, I'm working on my 1973 F36 Tri-cabin. I am using a brand new digital volt meter with new battery. The house batteries are located under the floor of the salon next to the generator. There were NO cranking batteries connected at the time I checked the voltage ...

dc electrical question
Spent some time running down electrical stuff on the new boat today. I'm not having too much luck in getting anything DC to operate. Batteries are fully charged, but it seems like everywhere I checked with a volt meter, I'm only getting about a reading of about a 1.5 volts. Dome lights, shower pump,...

Thanks for the reply
Many thanks for the advice... Apple, I really like the calculations while under the influence, just too bad they didn't work out. I'm beginning to seriously look toward diesels. Just need to save a little money! Considering the size of the "box" in which the gas burners currently sit what ...

One good Chrysler 440 one NOT good
OK guys... the questions now before you is this: Are the Chrysler 440's worth rebuilding? I've got one pretty good starboard engine, but the port side is shot. Is it worth the rebuild for one, or if I have to go to this much work, yank 'em both and start over? I've never owned the Chrysler motor bef...
