Sideshift Stern Thruster Installation

Post by rsciolino »

Did my research, called all of the mfg's and the best response came from a company called SideShift. Spoke with Rob Griffin at length and he answered every question and concern I had. This will be going on my 1978 Trojan F26 that has been 100% rebuilt so the investment in a quality thruster was a no-brainer. Hopefully people will not run away from my dock when they see me coming in. Will keep the forum updated as I progress on the installation.

Great addition! A perfect add for a single screw inboard. My old F27 (same boat as the f26) was a chore to back into a spot. I can’t tell you how many times my wife looked at me like I was some sort of half arsed, two sheets to the wind, amateur, wannabe captain!

A stern thruster would have saved my ego so much embarrassment as I learned to drive her.

I put a Sideshift bow thruster on my Tri-cabin this winter, easy install! Highly recommend them, you won't regret it.

Can not tell any difference at any speed, so far very happy with it.
