manifold gaskets

Going to replace risers and manifolds. was wondering about high heat marine gasket sealant to use for gaskets. Do you use gaskets also and put sealant on or no gaskets or just gaskets alone??

Gaskets only unless the surface is pitted . As these are new gaskets only
