Cutting Taff rail
For those of you who have installed hinges on your taff rail, any advice on type of saw or blade to use? The hardware I bought does cover the ends however I’d love to avoid any splintering etc as much as possible. Cutting into original wood is somewhat intimidating!

Any nice hand saw will work fine, if you are concerned about chipping just tape the cut and score with a knife first, but I think you will be just fine.
The fittings I got took quite some modifying to the wood to fit as wood end profile and the hinges did not match, was doable though.

I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!
