10 Meter Mid Cabin Fuel Tank
Hi Everyone,
I have a 89 10m Mid Cabin Express. I need to remove the 2 saddle fuel tanks and replace them. I talked to the Beacon guys and they gave me some info about the vent box leaking and sometimes leaving water on the tanks and I need to fix it.
I wanted to know if anybody has changed their saddle tanks. And if you remove the engines, can you remove the tanks without cutting the deck. Any
hints would be welcome.

Welcome DTH! If you try the search feature first, you may be able to get an answer even faster. Good luck resolving the tank issue. Lots of great advice (and old posts) available here.
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

Re: 10 Meter Mid Cabin Fuel Tank
2 options...
1. Pull the motors and cut the stringers...
2. Pull the motors and cut the deck...
Either way, there is no way to remove the tanks without cutting. At least that was what I found. I hope that you can find a different way. It seems crazy that I had to do it that way.
Also, check the stringers really good. Chances are, they are wet.

Thank You for the info.
I will be pulling the boat out of the water soon and will be able to take a closer look before it gets cold here. I will take a good look at the stringers to make sure they are not wet. Did you repair the stringers after you put in the tanks and did you get the same size tank. I was thinking if I put in a different size or shape tank maybe I can cut the old ones out and put in new ones with out cutting.
The engines are the 315hp diamond series.

I actually modified the shape of the stringer when we repaired it. We shortened the height of it by about 3-4 inches which gave us enough room to get the tank back in the boat after the stringer was repaired.

This post is kind of old but I look at 89 10 meter with cummins 6B's down in Delaware about 12 years ago, I think it was Ocean city Delaware.
just wondering if its the same 10 meter.
