Windlass anchor system on F44
We have a windless anchor system on a F44. It’s 110 volt , the anchor is directly attached to the chain by a clevis. I was told I need a rope in between the chain and anchor for shock load. Do I need to add a rope or stay chain only.

You can use all chain, but you should also use a snubber line. I would not use a rope between the anchor and the chain never seen anyone do that. defeats the purpose of the chain.

Are you sure the windlass is 110 volt?

We use 100 feet of chain with 200 feet of rope behind it.

Nothing wrong with a chain and rope but the chain goes to the then rope.
