F26 Rudder Fell off stock!
Lost steering today. Got back using reverse (prop walk to port) and bumping forwards and reverse. Not pretty but it worked. Any ideas why it fell off?

I would guess it was damaged at one time and repaired, maybe the shaft was replaced.
Beacon may have a rudder.

Yes, the shaft was straighted and work also done on the prop after I found “that rock” after 44 years on the same lake. Picture is from when the rudder and stock were removed before repairs. I think the rudder came off at the coupling and now is “somewhere” on the bottom of the lake. FUN! I’ll reach out to Beacon. I’ll probably just let it be a “camp” for now and get started on replacement when the boat’s on the hard this fall.

Bob came through. Very helpful and a new rudder & stock are coming my way in a month or so. In the meantime, we’ll use the boat as our “summer camp” and watch the grandkids try to kill themselves doing flips and crazy dives off the transom. Bob also told me that anyone who can handle a single screw like I did can call themselves “captain”, and “anyone can drive a twin screw” So now my head is too big for my hat.
