Anyone add a water spicket to the front of their boat???

I was washing off the boat yesterday thinking that it sure would be nice if I had a water outlet on the front of the boat somewhere.... Anyone done this?
Got pic of it??? Trying to get ideas....

I recently installed a Washdown kit on my F30. Was easy to install. Wired to my fuse panel. Fresh water came from factory installed pet cock and had to drill a few holes for hose outlet and on off switch. Bought it brand new on ebay (see attached) for a lot less than Marina or supply store wanted. $229 at Marina and paid $160 on line. Works great, good luck.

It was te first thing I added after buying my last two boats. I added a dedicated thru-hull intake strainer, sea cock, and raw water strainer on my system. I mounted my spigot together with a pull/push power switch in my boat's cockpit, but you could mount and plumb one wherever you find it most convenient. Your biggest challenge would be routing the waterline and/or switch wiring from the bilge up behind the cabin trim to the foredeck. Double-clamp any connections you'll have behind the cabin trim!

on my other boat i have a saltwater wash down and a fresh water..it is more work to in stall but the salt water washes off fish guts and then i hit is briefly with the valuable potable water

No I have nothing to wash down. That's what I'm trying to acheive... I want something I can pull out and wash down the deck as I please instead of having to connect to the dock

well my washdown started from wanting a transom shower for washing the swimming water off me....then it became this giant system with pumps strainers, valves...u gotta love boating>>>>

Do you have any idle thru hull seacocks? If like me you run mainly in fresh water then you can just connect an Aqua jet to it and run the outlet hose wherever you want.
I have mine on the aft deck which is OK for a 32' boat. Looking at yours I would bring it out midships then a 25/50' flexible coiling hose will allow you to get anywhere fore and aft from there.
How easy is it for you to route a hose from bilge to the side of boat say just behind the side windows at deck level?
Using the coiled hose from the aft deck works OK as long as you pay attention how it pays out as you proceed forward to wash the anchor chain and foredeck. Having an outlet up there would be best but I had NO interest in punching a hole in my re-cored foredeck.

Do you have any below water seacocks you can tie into forward?
Do you pickup water for the heads thru seacocks? Maybe you can T there for your washdown?

That eBay $160 buynow seemed high to me and the included 25' flexhose is too short, though it might work from midships... 40' is a minimum IMO.

I installed the Blaster from Shurflo. Works great! One of the best thing I put on the boat. It got expensive to install. I was in the ship store and saw that they had the Blaster on sale. Wanting a washdown system I bought it. As it turned out, the pump was a minor cost of the installation. I wanted the installation to be right so I put in a new bronze thru-hull intake strainer, bronze seacock, Perko raw water strainer, brass barbed tailpiece fittings, suction hose, reinforced PVC hose, hose clamps, Perko outlet, Ancor magnetic breaker, duplex wire, pull switch, garden hose, and a nozzle. Before I was done, it cost over $500 for my washdown system, and that was with me doing the work.

You gotta love boating!

I am in freshwater, I can T off of my Sea cock for the water. I plan to mount the wash down hose in the front hatch because I can feed the hose from the beldge up through the front into my front storage hatch without taking too much apart, mainly just the flooring.

You can tee off an existing seacock. I personally wouldnâ€™t tee off either of the seacocks for the engines; rather, I would tee off the water feed for the generator, head, or air conditioner.

Your pump will work better if it is mounted fairly close to the intake. Itâ€™s easier for the pump to pump water rather then trying to suck the water to the pump.

Thereâ€™s no reason you canâ€™t install more then one outlet. If you have an outlet on the back deck and one on the bow, you can use a shorter hose

RU saying you already have washdown for the aft area? If so why not T that and run another hose to the bow area and use that one pump?
