Air conditioner

Post by zbigk »

Hi everyone,

I own a 1982 F32 and the CruisAir air conditioning unit (reverse cycle) has rusted out and will need to be replaced. I only need to replace the condensing unit. I cannot find any specifications on BTUs...

The 2 air handlers are fine, one in galley next to fridge & the other in v-beth is fine also.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You want a 16K unit. Is your system a remote, where you have the condensing unit separate from the evaporators? If so, you'll want this:

If you have a self contained unit, try one of these applications.

Let me know what you get for a price, I am also looking for a condensing unit...

On a separate but similar note has anyone ever heard of rebuilding a condenser? I have an old Luniaire unit that I was talking to someone on the dock about and he suggested rebuilding the unit...

Thanks

Most likely not worth it compared to the difference in a new one, plus even if you could find someone to rebuild it, I doubt the warranty on the repair would be of any asset...it's had it's useful life.
