Unless we pay for a two week extension we have to have our boats out of the harbor by October 31. Almost all of us will be out earlier then that. I usually take mine out around the 15th. Once the boat is pulled it needs to be winterized, unless it is stored in heated inside storage. I, personally, store outside with shrink wrap and do my own winterizing. The yard does the shrink wrapping.
That time of the year the weather is very unpredictable. It could be anywhere from the 70's to below freezing. We usually see the first snow flakes between the 15th and 31st of October. This isn’t a situation that threatens the boat with frozen blocks or water systems, but it does indicate things to come. I try to get my boat winterized the day after it is pulled. That way I know the boat is safe from the elements. There are always a few projects that can be done before it gets really cold, and I’m sure this year won’t be any different. This is just part of what boating is when you boat up north.

We celebrated grandson's big 03 Saturday in Rochester, came to boat on Sunday and took off for our favorite restaurant on the lake. Eased off throttle approaching their courtesy dock and could only get it down to 1400 rpm - eeeeeeehaaahhh!!! Flew into the slip using neutral and forward. Adjusted the carb on the trusty 318 yesterday (we hang out at their docks overnight) and we're ready for the big 4 mile cruise back to the home dock. TALK ABOUT A BIG ADVENTURE ---- WOW
Wifey is retired and I'm "practicing" for mine the end of this year, so we'll hang out on the lake for another day or two and then back to reality.
Hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend!

Went out on Friday, had a couple of friends over with their daughter and had dinner after going out for a short cruise.
Saturday got up and replace the impeller and thermostats in the Onan Generator, wife slept off the night before, I took a nap until 3pm,
at 4pm we arrived at our freinds house for dinner then went next door for our other friends birthday party. Drank way too much, went to sleep at 4:30am
Slept till 9am, went back towards the boat to meet some more friend and got all the way there and realized we couldn't make it and went back home and slept the day away. That evening went over to my brother in laws house for dinner (lives on the lake too), drove to the boat.
Got up and had my brother in law and his girlfriend out and went out all day and got some great sun. Came back in at 5pm, went to Dinner and had some seafood, went home and was BEAT......
I am too old for these long weekends.
