Hello Everyone

Post by John H »

I just got this boat, and while doing some web searches I came across your forum here. This looks like a great resource for new owners like me. I've already read through a few of the threads. There's some good information here that I'm sure will come in very handy.

The boat is a '73 F26 Hardtop. It's been well maintained over the years. I don't have much history on it, but there are only 920 hours on the clock, and everything's super clean under the hatch. The upholstery is new in the cabin, and the seats have been redone as well. It hasn't been run since last Spring when the previous owner passed away. He had it since 1988.

I've owned a few boats over the last 30+ years. The last one was a 1966 16' big block olds flatbottom that I dismantled a couple years ago. This is my first with a cabin. I've always have had ski boats, but this looks like it could be fun. The marina is about twenty minutes from where I live. I'm already planning to spend next weekend on the boat if the weather's nice. Wish me luck

I have a 75 F26 hard top. I noticed in the pic that you have your front windows open. I really like that I can open up those windows too, makes a world of difference. I look at some of the newer boats in my price range and just don't like the styling that much. Mine has the Ford 351 mercruiser. If you need any brochure or manual info. it may be the same as mine. Just ask. Anyhow welcome!

Thanks for the welcome. Looking at the pictures here is really inspiring. I've got some work ahead of me, but I can't wait to get started.

Cool thanks! That would be great. Mines a Ford so it might be the same. I agree about the windows. It's nice to have the option to open them.

Thanks for the welcome everybody. I'll get some more pictures for those interested. At the time all I had was my phone, so the few snapshots I took aren't very good quality.
