Capt's set

Post by larglo »

Hi chauzer,

In the" count down to spring" post, you placed several pic's of your boat,,,of before and after.

I noticed the capt's seat mount was the type I would like to use on my boat.
But I have never seen one that is that high. All the one's I've seen were up to 18", or so, like swivel fishing chairs?

Would you know the/a marine site that sells this type of mounting post?

Thanks much.

Larry

Oh my,,,please call me Larry :-) Some have called me other names, but that's not important. And thanks a million for any help you can give me.

I had the factory mount, but the seat had been replaced with a much larger one, and when put down, it stuck out to much. But with the mount you have, I can set and swivel to talk to people in the rear.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Larry...

I put two new seat pedestals in my teak floor cockpit that swivel 360 degrees and travel fully up and down - compressed action style with actuator to boot!
They are also removable. Work excellent.

I can put pics on my Photo bucket album if you like. (the seat pedestals in that album right now were the old ones that weren't strong enough)

Update...

I just took pics of the new last summer seats and pedestals...and posted them to the above photobucket link.

They stood up extremely well....even under less then desirable boating conditions.

Very happy that I made the change from the stock set up....enjoy having the choice to turn and lower when entertaining.

About 1/2 an hour or so install for each seat.

Countdown has begun.

Paul, nice photo album. Your boat will look really sharp with the blue hull! As for a helm and pedestal seat I had some custom made, but use the stock mounts to the side panel. I'll see if I can dig up a photo

Custom made seat pedestals

That would be cool to see any pics you have. Always curious to see the creative ways guys do things.

The hull paint looks blue...hmm...I did the mock up in black.

Doubt I'm going to have time this spring for that...doing the entire topside first.

Over ambitious but still married ...

Hi Paul, sorry about that, I guess my eyes are playing tricks on me....I thought it was a dark navy blue. But....black or blue it does look sharp! You've done a really nice job on her and I do like your new anchor storage. Here's a link to a small album for my F-26 , Matt

Custom made seats

Post by Paul - SW Ontario »

Those seats look fantastic....

My wife has been looking at new seats online for our boat...."she" ...hasn't picked them out yet.

We were at the Toronto Boat show on Saturday....as big as ever...no sign of an economic meltdown....still had new models, not seen last year....and a full showing of vendors.

Really gets the cold thick blood flowing again.
