can someone explain the "Nav/anchor" toggle switch
If I toggle it up to "Nav" my windshield/stern (white) and port/starboard lights are all lit.
If I move it to "anchor" none of them come on.

that's what I thought but wanted to confirm. They go out....
so I need to troubleshoot the 360 degree side.

The first thing to do to trouble the nav and anchor light is to check the switch. You will need either a volt meter or a 12v test probe.
The switch is a DPDT center off switch. [(on/off/on) with double poles] If you look at the back of the switch, you will see the terminals. If there are 4 terminals on the switch, it is a pre-wired running light switch. The wiring is inside the switch, but terminals 2 and 5 are connected, and terminals 4 and 6 are connected. Terminals 5 and 6 will not be on the back of the switch, Sorry about my diagram, the site wouldn't post it the way I wanted.

12v, battery power goes to terminal 2 and 5.
When the switch is thrown in one direction terminals 2 and 3 are connected, Terminals 5 and 6 will also be connected.
When the switch is thrown in the other direction, terminals 2 and 1 conect as well as 5 and 4.
The forward light in the mast light is connected to terminal 4. It doesn’t matter which direction the switch is thrown, the forward mast light will be on.
The nav lights and stern light is connected to either terminals 1 or 3, depending on which was you want the bat handle or rocker to face,
The back bulb in the mast light is connected to the other terminal, (3 or 1)
Now, when the switch is thrown the nav, stern, and forward mast lights will be on. When the switch is thrown in the other direction, both bulbs in the mast light will be on. When in the center, all lights are off.

In my previous post I explained what was going on in the switch.
To check your switch., use the probe or volt meter. One of the terminals is the power feed. It will have power no matter what position the switch is in.
There will be a terminal that is powered when the switch is in either position. This goes to the front light of the mast light.
The other two terminal will have power when the switch is thrown in one direction or the other. No power in either one when the switch is off.

At least I got my running lights all working for now.
Does your mast light have 2 bulbs. One pointing forward, the other in the rear? If that is the case, the forward light would light when the anchor light switch is on. Since it isn't, the problem is in the switch.
If on the other hand, if you have a separate anchor light with a single bulb, the socket or bulb in the light could be bad.

My mast light has two blubs, one forward and one rear. Both should light with the switch in the anchor position.....you need 360 degree viewing for your anchor light.

yes, I have two bulbs. The forward one comes on with the Nav
selection and the indicator lights up on the panel. If I flip it back to anchor, the indicator light lights up but nothing happens.

finally got around to really troubleshooting my Nav/Anchor..
I'm pulling my hair out, I can't get them to operate as they should. When I got the boat, only the Nav light worked on the windshield mast.
I think the light was replaced at some point, it is a standard Perko mast with a forward and rear bulb setup. When I removed the light, there was only ONE wire up in the windshield frame connected to the white wire, the gray wire was not connected. I traced back down the frame thinking there must be another factory wire otherwise the "360" function never worked but can't find anything.
Putting that aside for a moment (I'll run another wire if I have to), I've been using some aligator clips over to the "Nav/Anchor" switch for testing.
Both bulbs work but I cannot get the 360 to work without the running lights staying on. I can switch back and forth and the mast works as it should with the forward coming on in one direction and both bulbs in the other.
I tried another (new) identical switch with the same results. I have six wires in total. I have the two 12v wires going to the center terminals (following"gjrylands" post above), which leaves me with four left.
In order to get the mast light to work correctly, I'm jumping the "extra" wire on the mast (forget which color now) and clipping that onto the back of the switch.
I've tried moving it around to different terminals but cannot get the running lights to go "off" when the 360 is enabled.
So, I know the bulbs work and so do the switches. I seem be out of combinations to try. Am I missing something obvious?
There should be TWO wires running from the switch to the light correct?

Have you put a Volt meter (or bulb tester) on each wire at mast light and moved toggle? What do you see?
Should see power to one (front bulb) in Nav and power to both in Anchor... if not then the switch is not arming both wires in Anc postion.
no, I haven't done that but both bulbs are working....
so I would expect the voltage to be ok. I can get the forward light to come on with the switch in one direction and BOTH to come on with the switch in the other direction. My problem is when both lights are on, the nav lights stay on too.
