F26 Interior Help

Hi All....Need help again LOL Rebuilding the interior of our 1980 F26 Flybridge.
We stripped the cabin of everything that was laminated and refinished in a gloss cherry mica , table top and galley counter in black matte mica.

Before we replace headliner we will rebuild both foreword and side windows. Thanks Randy for bow window fix

Now dealing with sides of hull, top part looks like a thick wall paper and below a multicolor heavy fabric.

Would love to see pix of done interiors from members and how and what type of fabric was used ?

Should we foam top and bottom
Does top section get totalled glued ?

Jimmy, one of the first things I did on my F26 was to replace the cabin wall (bulkhead) treatments. Mine had a heavy felt like material glued to the fiberglass, and then over that was the tan vinyl, i think it was glued to the felt-not sure as mine was partially removed. Anyway, for the top part of the bulkhead i stapled some good quality vinyl to the top edge of the wall, under the trim board. I left the felt up as it was till attached well, and was told to glue the vinyl to it, but found it lays perfectly just being stapled top and bottom. I used the old pieces of vinyl as a pattern for cutting the new, so don't tear it up when removing. Then for the lower part of the hull, below the ledge, I stapled hyperstretch carpet top and bottom. It is a headliner like carpet with no backing that will stretch to conform to the complex curve of the hull so it lays well too. Again no glue- sounded like a big potential mess to me. Then to make a wider trim piece at the ledge, I used the plastic(foam?) baseboard material from Lowes. It is about the only thing that will stretch that much on two different planes. PS- this and professionally made cushions really make a boat like nicer.

The black strips along the trim board are velcro strips to hold the cushions upright.

well I got a little differant layout on the 30 but this is mine in progress
4" mahogany micro bevel black walnut seat , white corian on the ledges and counter tops . I over laid pleather on one of the closet walls not sure if I like it , so I too am looking for something to do the walls in the forward berth area

NIce wood finish. I like the white wall treatments because they look cleaner and they make the cabin lighter and brighter.

Also, Rodman, you were gonna replace your plexi front window cuz it is opaque/frosted? Mine is too and it works weel as privacy glass like on your bathroom windows, but lets in light well. I store my boat under a roof but the late afternoon sun can shine through the front windows enuff to keep the mildew at bay.

Ya it does make it alittle darker, but I wanted a place to put a radio and electric panel to run my led lights I am putting up in the coves

Everyone's look really nice, amazing how much room these have for a 26 footer. I like the table in the v-birth, unfortunately that's where I have my bilge pump

Our F26's are very roomy for 26 footers- partly due to the 10' beam.
My brother has a 24' Glastron express cruiser and when he saw my cabin for the first time he said " Holy crap this is twice as big as my cabin!"

Paul, you have an incredible looking cabin. I love the mini table in the v-berth. I am gonna recarpet mine tomorrow!! I thought mine looked good. Sheez, yours is dreamy.

What do you guys use to treat the interior wood to get it looking so nice. Do you just use a teak oil or do you use something else.
