Huh, is that a common thing on the Chryslers? Not that I've dealt with alot of RH rotating Chev engines but I've only ever seen gear drives in the these models along with the starter mounted in the bell housing as opposed to under the engine block.

Learned somthing new. Its a good day. :D

i called the dodge dealer that services my work truck and hears the poop lh moter has a timing gear inbetween the cam and crank rh moters have a timming chain thus disrib rotation is the samr on bolth lh and rh rotation the cam is your firring order si in a lh moter the crank and can spin oppisit of each other in a rh moter thay spin the same dir and the parts are inerchangablethis is comming from a 35 year mopar machanic

On some engines the stater position will be changed


As far as Turning the pump to change direction of the shaft . You turn the pump to match the direction of the engine ( so the pump will pump)

they never put a reverse turn engine in a truck or car so unless your dealer just happens to mess with boats , the would not know

"Cook Engine" in Portland Oregon has been building marine engines for two generations and is the preferred engine builder in the northwest, this is who I deal with, they can give you any info or ship any parts you need.

As there is a gear on top of the camshaft to reverse direction for distributor drive, the reverse engine needs a spacer to lift the common distributor up as it mates with this extra gear.

it can be done changing the cam, and starter, I did it with an old Chris Craft three years ago
