Trip Photos Of Easter Weekend.
All went well, I had a great time. The boat did OK over all, there is still a carburetor problem. So I am going to install a new one. I can not wait too do it again. Here is a link to some photos.

Some nice pictures.. looks like a fun place to go.
I noticed the fuel at that marina said no ethanol and it was only $3.51/gal, wish our fuel was that cheap!!
Last Summer best price I got was $3.86/gal and the norm was $4.30/gal and up
Ah well but our anchorages may be less crowded... Regatta Bay, Franklin Island, Georgian Bay

=========================
Gas price is $3.36 / Diesel: 2.839
Price includes tax & member discount
Our diesel and gas contains BIOBOR JF Fuel Additive

I had the 16x18 prop on. The rpm are not where they need to be yet. But its the Carburetor its loading up. I am going to replace it this week and take back out this weekend.foofer b wrote:Nice photos, Rodman. Did you just camp along the river? You look like you were going pretty fast in the pics, what prop were you running and what was your max rpm?

Yes the picasa is a lot easier I can upload from the program. It organize your photos on your hard drive in folders. I really like it and its free from google. Yes the water is still cold, Its going to take till June for the water too warm up. That fuel price was for non ethanol fuel.

Yea I was taking all the photos so I am not in them. I think they might be one or two. Did you see my second mate? She was laying on the bed. She is the best dog I have ever had. Do not tell my girl I would get rid her before I would the dog.

We will see about that... I believe I am not alone in the view that the 16x18 prop is too much prop for that engine boat combo.Rodman wrote:I had the 16x18 prop on. So the proof will be if/when you have done all the improvements (carb, bottom) and then we see if you get the correct max: engine rpm at full throttle.
I don't expect you to but I am open to be proven wrong... since I don't own your style of boat I can't be fully committed with my viewpoint.

I was told it was the correct prop for 1 to 1/2 gear ratio. Once all improvements are done I will be honest and tell allready123 wrote:We will see about that... What about the fact that the diameter does not give you much space from boat bottom... so maybe if the pitch of 18 is correct you should have a 14x18 to give more space between hull and prop wash to reduce turbulence and improve water flow/push??
Just how it looks from here......

I am open to all suggestions and answers`s I am willing to try anything to make it right. I will look for a 14x 18 prop see if I can find one and try it.ready123 wrote:What about the fact that the diameter does not give you much space from boat bottom... so maybe if the pitch of 18 is correct you should have a 14x18 to give more space between hull and prop wash to reduce turbulence and improve water flow/push??

One thing at a time... get the bottom and carb fixed... then look at the prop.
A good carb abd bottom and this big prop will tell you if the 18 is too much, which may also be the case.
