1987 Trojan 10 meter windshield corner glass

ok folks, i am making molds. This is going to be a winter project so i will keep you posted. I am going to do a Starboard side one first. The plastic shop needs these molds to be very heavy duty and gelcoated so there will be no marks on the acrylic.

When you guys get to this stage, can you post back on how you replaced the rubber trim around the glass?

Mine has shrunken with age and sort pulling away. I assume that this is pretty standard rubber trim that you can get from Taylor Glass.

I'm not sure if it's possible to replace it w/o removing the glass though? I could use it on all of the front glass and corner window. This is on my fall/winter haulout list.

Bob i too need to replace all of my moulding as it is dried out and shrunken. You don't need to pull your glass to replace it. It has a beveled edge that pops into the frame. It just sits on top of your glass. I have not procured this moulding yet either. If you locate some please contact me.

Ok you can buy the glazing direct from Beacon Marine. I will send a link and a pic soon. Maybe we can get a discount if we order in bulk. I am going to measure and see how much I need to do my entire boat tomorrow.

they also have the correct plastic trim at the base of the windshield "screw cover". They sent me a sample of each, I believe it's the wider of the two shown. I have the number somewhere if anyone needs it.

That was a little pricey too for what it is.... I think it was $70 for all three pieces.

I did a rough measurement and i got about 107' total to do the 10 meter express window system.

Side rear (large) 14'
Side front (small) 8'
Acrylic corner 9'6"
Front outer 13'
Middle top 10'
Middle bottom (hatch) 7'

I rounded up to the nearest foot.

The glass guy that I gave the frame and new window to does not have any material that matches.

I guess that same part number should fit my 13 meter?

By the way... Ocean Dynamics seems to handle my corner frame problems. At least they said so.

I had the mold fabricated and i brought it to the plastic shop. They are making me two starboard side 1/4" acrylic clear windows. I only need one. I will have an extra for sale within a few weeks. I am not sure of the cost yet.

One of them they are cutting to exact specs. And the other they are just heating the acrylic and bending it over the mold and it will need to be trimmed to specs.

Doug, I just purchased a 1986 13 Meter express in Fairhaven MA.
I have seen the extensive refit you did on yours. Very impressive.
I am very concerned about the upcoming truck transport and those corner windows blowing out.
I have had a few suggestions to use 3M Preservation tape to hold them in during transport or shrink wrapping the whole boat, Mine will also be loaded backwards on the trailer.
My question for you is, do you still have the mold that you had made if needed? Secondly, did you ever find the proper rubber gasket to reinstall your new window and how did it work out for you?

Well not sure if I can help, but let me share with you what I am going through right now.

My boat was hauled up from FL to NJ about a month ago. It was loaded on the truck with with the stern facing forward, between the speed of the truck and severe wind, the starboard side curved window broke out of the frame and is gone.

I had new ones made from a shop south of chicago. I brought them my old cracked and faded ones, and they molded and made me new ones out of acrylic. They were a perfect fit. Ill post contact info. Mine was for the 11 meter, but sure they could make them for anything.
