Hey all, the holding tank on my boat came with a nice crack in it. I tried plastic welding it last year along with a whole ton of other goops placed on it with nothing sealing the deal.
I am looking to replace the holding tank with just a normal tank with out the macerator. Since I do not/can not use the thru hull disposal on it I will just be setting it up for pump out.
My question is can I put just a normal waste holding tank in with a vacuum flush system? Is there a difference in the density of the plastic/resin?

Shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you properly vent it.

one of my boating buddies ( yes...I have friends
) had the vent plug up on his holding tank with out knowing it ( on his 42 pacemaker).Any way, while working on the problem, his holding tank split, spewing ...uh....holding tank contents... all over him and the bilge....uhg....yuck...funny now though hee, hee, hee.

Please insert acceptable political or boating statement here...or not... I really don't give a crap....
Most vacu-flush systems have a vacuum tank that is a small 1-2 gal capcity, then a macerator pump that moves the waste to a larger holding tank. If this is the type you have, then any holding tank will do.
I've got a few good deals from http://www.tank-depot.com over the years.
