Heat Exchanger tank rubber gaskets, /seals

Post by guglielmo6160 »

anybody know where I can find the rubbe seals/gaskets that go on the end of my exchanger tank, ? I really dont know the brand or name of the tank, but I can post some pictures of it, tommorrow, I can tell you that it has like three chambers that look like a peace sign when you take em off,
one side had a slight leak today and would like to change em out.

On my merc's I used some 1/8" rubber with cloth reinforcement and lube it with silicone compound . Worked well for me so far.

seems weird if you look at the gasket its sedtioned off, when I think a solid piece of rubber will do. Why would they do that? its like a stamped piece of very thin rubber,
with the price of what a heat exchanger costs, you would think it would be better quality

Call Beacon marine, the people that offer us this site. The number is at the top of this page. They should have ne problem getting you the gasket. Unfortunately we just can't run out to wally world to get certain parts.
