Macerator Pump
Hello all,
Wanted to ask if the Macerator Pump has to be below or level with the head so the waste water is in the pump when turned on in order to remove the waster water from the head holding tank of a Monomatic head, or can it be a installed little above (how far above) the head, so as to self prime and draw the waste water from the holding tank of the head and into another larger holding tank?
Thanks,
Larry

I have to ask why are you pumping s** t from one tank to another ? And the pump has a 8 foot lift. But the papers for it should tell you the lift.

Larry - I assume this is related to the configuration I described in my post re the MONOMATIC... there might be about 18" of hose between the head and the manual pump I currently have in place, then maybe 4-6' of hose to the external tank. My pump is located roughly the same height as the bottom of the head, which helps make it 'self priming'. If my pump was a macerator I think I would want it low in the system too.

Larry,
I have to caution you; this system sounds complicated. The more pumps and hose joints and clamps and all the other stuff just increases the odds of having a problem (leak, plug system)
.
I gotta agree with other posts; why do you want to pump s*** around your boat?
