351 Windsor Motors QUESTION
Hey everyone. Its been very busy trying to get all stuff together for the spring. I am wondering what is a good RPM for me. 30' express bridge with twin 351s. What RPM should I be cruising at? Thanks for the help. Everyone on this site(for the most part) seems very helpful, Im thankful.

I have a 30' Sea Raider with twin 350's. I don't like to cruise at much more than 3200rpm....on my boat 3200rpm gives me 18-20 knots....that being said, at 3200rpm my fuel consumption is crazy so I often go slow and easy at around 1200rpm and 8-10 knots.............John

Cruising at Hull Speed (8-10 knots) at 900-1,000 RPM or so is the most economical.
Planing @ 2800 is great if it will do it. Some, like JDDENS 30' Sea Raider might take 3200 RPM to plan, but fuel consumption goes way up.
