Wacky Fuel Guage Reading

Post by jhalb »

Had my 1983 10 Meter out for the 3erd time this weekend and my fuel guage went from half full to empty. It stayed at empty even when I stopped the boat. Then it would jump to quarter and back up to half full and land back on empty. I tought I had half a tank but being a new to me boat I wasn't sure. I decided to fuel up and it only took 70 gallons to fill her. The guage now shows full. Does it sound like a bad ground or guage starting to go bad. Any ideas where to start?
