1986 11 meter International missing Dash
I was wondering if anyone can send me some close up pictures of a 1986 Trojan 11 meter express International's Instrument panel, (Dash Board). It was stolen from my boat, and the thieves weren't too careful. They just chopped the wires up. Now I have to have a new dash panel made. We will also have the nightmare of figuring out the wiring. The dash was the one with a cluster of about 5 gauges to the left of the wheel, and I think 3 rows of toggle switches, (not rocker switches) to the right of the wheel. I'll need close up pictures to help determine the function of each switch and gauge. This will aid in figuring out the wiring too. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

first, that really sucks. you mean they just broke in and ripped everything off? wow. where are you located? i'm sure there are plenty of folks on here that can assist you. have you thought about doing a redesign? this way, while i know it's not exactly the position you want to be in, you can start new. hope you find the butt heads that did it.

10 & 11 meter dashes are different.
Mine is not custom, jut added additional guages for the genny & diesels.
Beacon Marine & Marine TEch are your best bets.

as long as we are on the subject of instrument panels, there are 3 'sticky' type of inserts at the very bottom of my panel that really could use replacing. these are small, nearly paper thin, items that identify engine functions, anchor/running lights, wipers, etc. they look like hell and i've run out of ideas how to get these little sobs replaced. have any of you done similar? if so, how did you go about it. ideally, what i would do is send these to whomever will be fabricating them so they can be an exact match.
thanks.

I redid the dash & guages when we refitted our 10 Meter.
The black plastic dash material had a few cracks and was tired looking from sunlight exposure.
We reinforced the structurally weak areas and replaced the toggle switch label identification tags with clear lexan, which we then illuminated from behind as the originals were. We replaced the red toggle switch indicator lamps with new style lamps. We also added twin pyrometers and boost guages on a lexan panel, sandwiched to the middle of the dash where the old depthfinder was formerly located.
We then filled in and sanded the cracks and painted the dash with a textured, plastic compatible paint (I think it was Rustoleum brand)
The resut is what looks like a new dash.
That "Star Trek" inspired pod dash is relatively easy to service, structurally sound and the design has tremendous appeal.
A zippered canvas cover is highly reccomended.
will post photos in a moment

what i will do is take some pics of the panel so you can take a looksee. if possible, feel free to cut and paste them here (i have no clue how to do it unless uploading it to my photobucket account). i wonder if roger has any ideas. oh, were you thinking of, at least on a temp basis, transferring the cruddy ones to a think piece of plastic and glueing them in place that way all the panel ID'S will be in place? send me an email at tovyah@aol.com then i can bounce back the pics i take today.RWS wrote:Hee's a link to my factory dash restored.

I added a 1/4" lexan panel to over the old holes. This is one of the spots where I added the extra guages.
Aaron, perhaps you could use that material as a replacement for your paper thin stuff?
Roger at First Mate MArine is proably the most knowledgale Trojan guy in Florida, and is quoted in th eTrojan History article on this website.

I Just need a close-up well defined picture of the stock dash. This will help me see what was controlled by the switches, So I can have a head start on figuring out the wiring. Also, the gauge location and functions, for the same reason. I'm going to build a custom panel for it. Thanks for your help guys.

11 meter panel
There is a photo of my dash as it appeared when I bought my 11 meter on the link below. It is the last photo on the page. I also have the original wiring diagram. Unfortunately, it is on the boat in Miami and I am in Delaware. I am going down in two weeks, and if you need it I can scan it then and forward it to you. Tough luck having your dash stolen, first time I hear of that.
