I hear you, it seems to be a trend, it had almost seemed that boat sales had picked up, but maybe because people are "giving" them away.

for 6300, it would be worth new engines, it does look awfully clean

The only Tri I've seen with 440s had them in the aft cabin. Wonder if this is the same.

When someone says "engine needs work" and asks way less than a boat is really worth, you can pretty much count on a repower or something close to that costly.
Twin screw and they both "need work"?
Sounds expensive...
How much would she be worth with fresh power?

It is my understanding that the '74 has the engines just as you said, in the aft-cabin.

FYI my 74 tri cabin has 454's and they are locate in the aft cabin that are located underneath the two aft bunks, great access as the bed frames disassemble and you have full access to the blocks and plenty of room for tools

Hello... new member, first post...

My wife and I are the VERY fortunate new owners of the F36 in that craigslist ad.

The boat is in shockingly clean and sound condition, and she passed the survey with flying colors.

The engines need work, but we are in no rush to get her running... my wife will live aboard it, while I live aboard my boat, four slips over... we've been divorced for five years, have finally worked out all of our crap, but we both REALLY learned to love our own space over those years.

We were expecting this to be our next big restoration project (our third together), but as it turns out, there won't be a hell of a lot to do to turn her bristol again.

This was a classic case of the owner being desperate to get out from under it.

We we're ridiculously lucky, and are ridiculously happy!

here are a few shots that I took with my phone to suit the Admiral... I'll be toting my Nikon down there to get more shots below, etc., soon...

It will be a while before we have her out on the water, but we are out there fairly frequently on my sailboat.

*preparing for the anti-blowboat barrage*

We've never really met, but Paul has always been pleasant to me as we passed on the dock.
